Feminism’s benefits to women revisited

Feminism’s benefits to women revisited — Many people, especially quite a few fathers rights activists, feel that little progress has been made in rolling back the great harm to society that was brought about by modern feminism.  Opinions like that are largely correct, but not entirely.  Progress is being made. The harm done by feminism is enormous, but one must consider that no problem was ever eradicated until the first major step to an effective problem solution was taken.  That is, problem recognition by a critical mass of people affected by a given problem. Until a little more than a decade ago, modern feminism was not viewed, publicly, as a … Continue reading

Wascher, MD, FACS 2008 12 14 These past 5 years have seen the dashing of the hopes of many cancer physicians and researchers who, like me, had hoped that antioxidant vitamin supplements would prove to be potent cancer prevention agents.  These hopes were built up over the previous decade as multiple clinical and laboratory studies reported encouraging results with Vitamin E, Vitamin C and selenium in the prevention of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and other types of cancer.  However, most of these studies were performed using research methods that are far … Continue reading

The theme park game that features insouciant plastic rodents popping out of the hole – Whack! Here comes another one – WHACK! That’s the image that comes to mind as I ponder Hillary Clinton’s controversial career: Staunch defender of a wayward Commander-in-Chief. Achievement-free senator from New York. Once-inevitable presidential candidate. And just when you think the drama has thankfully drawn to a close, the curtain rises on yet another act. In the current scene, Mrs. Clinton is nominated to serve as the Secretary of State. You wonder, exactly what qualifies her to … Continue reading

Re: Fatherlessness

Hello Pete, re: Fatherlessness My comments are between the lines of your message. You wrote: Greetings, I looked all over your website and I see that your organization is based in Canada, however I still have a couple questions. Why do you use the words fatherless and fatherlessness when talking about disadvantaged children? The reason why you don’t find the expression “disadvantaged children” at our website instead of the terms “fatherless children” and “fatherlessness” is because children who grow up with their fathers having been expunged from their lives do grow up fatherless while their fathers are still alive.  That then causes the consequence that those children are disadvantaged; with fatherlessness … Continue reading
