Barb’s thoughts on the day, August 15th:
Uploaded today to the bottom of Drano #187 is the response I received yesterday afternoon from Assistant Bar Counsel Susan Strauss Weisberg to my objections filed on 9 June 2008 in the federal district court in Boston. In her response to my objections, Weisberg wrote that my objections were addressed in four earlier documents. I responded to each of those documents, and my responses to them have long been in my Drano Series (look for The BBO v. Barb ) . . . and in the court, too, so I’ve decided I do not have to file a reply brief.
A Harrisburg, PA, lawyer is looking for a Dayton, OH, lawyer to be local counsel on a custody case. He represents the ex-husband. Let me know if you are an attorney practicing in that area of the law in that locale and are available.
Tennessee Mary who phoned me the othr day. I do not have your email address. Given that I was asleep when you called, I forgot to ask you for it.
I did a little nationwide research on gag orders. Given that I don’t need to waste time writing a reply brief to the Bar Counsel’s response, I’ll try to grab the time to write some guidance — with legal authorities — and upload it sometime next week.
By the way, I also learned yesterday that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has issued proposed amendments to the rules for the Board of Bar Overseers. I glanced at some of them. Eye candy, eye candy. But it is interesting that the SJC is acknowledging that there is a need to amend them.
I’d like to hear reports of the 2008DCFestival.
