SOS: “Taken into Custody” could go out of print
January 3, 2009 by Walter Schneider.
A very important appeal by Stephen Baskerville:
Cumberland House Publishing is being sold, and unless action is taken soon, Taken Into Custody will go out of print. This is serious for two reasons: First copies will no longer be available. Second, if this book does not succeed, no other book on the abuses of family court and the divorce industry will be published for a very long time. Publishers make decisions based on what sells. If you want your own book published, please help with the success of this one.
This is urgent, as it could go out of print in a matter of days.
Two things must be done:
First, we need to sell as many copies as possible while the book is still in print. Now is the time to buy copies and urge others to do so. To order, go to the TIC page on Amazon here.
Second, if you have any media contacts, now is the time to use them. I need more radio and TV exposure to keep the book alive.
To assist you, Mike Seeber and Molly Olson have produced the following terrific 2-minute video, which is now up on YouTube. Please distribute this to your media contacts and local officials:
Baskerville Speaks – Family Court Puts Profit Over People
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA6_ZGa7jbc&feature=channel
TIC now has 54 5-star reviews on Amazon. Few books have comparable ratings. All published reviews have been highly positive. (See the list of reviews and jacket quotations below.)
Thanks for all your support and assistance in the past. And hang in there.

Are huge charities worth the money we give them?
December 21, 2008 by Walter Schneider.
Are huge charities worth the money we give them?
By Jimmy Deuchars
The big children’s charities are struggling to survive due to the credit crunch and are hitting out at the government and local authorities on child care. Are they pointing out today so strongly the authorities cannot cope or to justify their own worth?
Now is the time to examine how we donate to charities nowadays and wonder “does charity start at home?” The big wealthy charities spend a fortune on graphic advertising using the problem of child abuse to motivate you to give a gift at Christmas or subscribe to them monthly, they use every opportunity to get you to give more and more.
The majority of your money goes on fat cat wages, advertising, staff wages, premises and training and countless other expenses. Is that how you want your money spent? How much is actually going to help the children?
What is their basic function of these big charities? A helpline like our own to refer abused children directly to social services a government organisation you pay for already. Why Social Services? (not that they are perfect either) but because they are the only organisation that has the legal right to interfere in family life. The governments already have a national helpline that is very widely known and paid for by your taxes.
The bet way to protect children from neglect or abuse needs someone close to stop the abuse before it causes real damage, someone that has a very special interest in children and knows the family intimately by knowing their shortcomings. Someone that is so close the children know them well and can find comfort in them.. This special someone believe it or not does not even have any legal right to the children. Who are they? They are Grandparents!
“Think about it, these wealthy giants can only help after the damage to children is done.” Grandparents on the other hand have an earnest desire to protect their grandchildren before they are damaged or worse Which will cost you nothing! Just ask your local MP MSP or member of the Welsh assembly to raise “Grandparents early detection of child abuse” in parliament, and you will be saving thousands from abuse or worse, giving them a right to a future.

International Men’s Day
December 8, 2008 by Walter Schneider.
It is too late now to celebrate International Men’s Day (IMD) in 2008, on Nov. 19, but it is not too late to get ready to celebrate it in 2009.
This year the Australian organization Dads 4 Kids joined Save Indian Family in promoting IMD. It appears that IMD has not yet been declared to be officially recognized by any country in the world. However, some men’s- and fathers rights organizations throughout the world are working hard to get that done.
There is a video of an announcement by Warwick Marsh of Dads 4 Kids, Australia, urging organizations and anyone throughout the world to become involved in joining and promoting the celebration of IMD. I found that video at http://www.internationalmensday.com/, a website that is owned by Warwick Marsh. (Here is a comparable 2007 statement by Save Indian Family, on YouTube.)
Warwick Marsh explains that the day for celebrating IMD, Nov. 19, is fortuitous, as that day is also the day of remembrance of the sinking of the HMAS Sydney. The HMAS Sydney, a light cruiser of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN)), sank on Nov. 19, 1941, “with the loss of all 645 hands, which represented the greatest loss of life in an Australian warship, and the largest Allied vessel to sink with all hands during the war.” (Source: Wikipedia)
Therefore it may be a good reason for Australians to celebrate IMD on Nov. 19. However, internationally, the date is not yet quite fixed.
The sinking of ships is rare. Voluntary sacrifices by men are far more common. It is the nature of men to sacrifice their lives to save women and children or — far more common yet — to die to merely keep women and children safe and comfortable. Still, it may be appropriate that, in celebrating IMD, a date should be chosen to commemorate a single instant of voluntary sacrifices in massive numbers made by men during the sinking of a ship. The sinking of the Titanic comes to mind, 1912 04 15, at 02:20 hrs.
The behaviour of the men on the Titanic is an example of what men do when the lives of women and children are in danger. In such circumstances, even in peace times, men eagerly and without much hesitation selflessly and voluntarily sacrifice their lives to save those of women and children. Moreover, the sinking of the Titanic has less of a national and more of an international nature of men’s magnanimity in saving women and children.
Women and children are not usually present on ships of war, as it would be uncharacteristic of men to demand that women and children risk their lives in the service of others to the same extent men do that. The deaths of the men on the HMAS Sydney were due to enemy action (the enemy in that case being comprised of German sailors who killed Australian sailors). The sinking of the Titanic had nothing to do with war, winners or losers.
In the sinking of the Titanic, 1,352 men, 96 women and four children lost their lives; 338 men, 316 women and 57 children were saved. (The Men of the Titanic Disaster)
The circumstances and current status of International Men’s Day in various nations were once well explained at Wikipedia (here is a ghost of that, the archived Feb. 27, 2008 entry of the definition), but now no longer so. World-wide, and if all men wish to say “me too”, then great efforts should be made by many men to have that day of celebration, so many decades after the world’s women got their International Women’s Day. How are men to do that? At Wikipedia, no man but men like Michael Flood, a manhater, gets permanent attention.
Feminism is socialism’s primary tool for re-engineering humanity and civilization. There are many forms and varieties of feminism, but the unifying thread that runs through virtually all of them is that when one examines their ideological roots, one always arrives back at the “gospel” according to Marx and Engels and their primary object of attention, the Status of Women. Marx and Engels were the first to popularize the term “status of women”. Ever since then, self-respecting feminists, especially of the Marxist or radical or socialist variety, religiously adhered to and promoted any and all dogmata pertaining to the well-being of the Status of Women.
Mothers Day wasn’t good enough for the feminists. They needed not only a day to celebrate women with children, they needed in addition to celebrate women, whether those women had children or not. They needed the worship of the uterus. Therefore it should not surprise anyone that International Women’s Day began like this:
Started as a political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries (primarily Russia and the countries of [the]former Soviet bloc). In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother’s Day and St Valentine’s Day mixed together. In others, however, the political and human rights theme as designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.
The IWD is also celebrated as the first spring holiday, as in the listed countries the first day of March is considered the first day of the spring season….
The first IWD was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America.
(Source: Wikipedia)
Now, we all know what has happened since then. To elevate someone to a pedestal causes discrimination. In the case of IWD, the discrimination became a war against men and the traditional nuclear family, and that is exactly what the socialists wanted, to cause dissent between the sexes and to create a rift between them. That rift already existed in the early 20th century and steadily deepened ever since, but a rift is not all. From the chivalry of the Victorian Age and its voluntary serfdom to women, men were made to jump into the mandatory slavery demanded by feminists and their fellow travellers.
Men’s average life expectancy, after being about the same as that of women in the developed nations at the beginning of the 20th century, fell more and more behind that of women. Now it is on average five years less than that of women, and as much as close to 14 years behind that of women in some of the developed nations, depending on for how long and how severely socialism has been at work in a given nation.
So, there is no doubt in my mind that International Women’s Day, given its origin as a political event (that was and still is its purpose), has done men a lot of harm and grief but not only men. Married women and their children who stick by their men and fathers suffer as well, as do even more so the vast majority of those who were enticed by easy divorces that followed and their children. Divorced women and their children wanted it all, and unless they went through a succession of new “husbands”, found instead that they had to do it all. It seems to me that the celebration of women on International Women’s day is not truly that but a wake for the traditional nuclear family.
Do men now want to fight back by having the governments of the world launch a day of celebration that will have a comparable impact on women, their husbands and fathers of their children? Is that why men now say, “me too”?
The reality of it all is that for good reasons no two legal-aid lawyers work on opposite sides of the same divorce or child custody case. For similar reasons it causes all governments problems to elevate women and men onto pedestals. If money and efforts are to be wasted, let the women do it — quite a few of them are good at it, as many a man can tell, especially those who were expunged from their families and need to pay child-support extortion (a.k.a. alimony in disguise) for their “right” to have been robbed of their children.
Such days of celebration don’t produce the results that the masses are made to expect, but they serve the politicians and the bureaucracy well, in as much that anything of that nature that the government gets its finger into, to promote and control, gets invariably fouled up (and that always being good for an expansion of the bureaucracy). That is what caused the fall of the Roman Empire, and it most certainly is causing our fall right now.
Instead of having government-sponsored and -promoted days of celebrating one or the other sex, let’s have more power for parents and more of the teaching of respect for them in school and at home, as well as the teaching of mutual respect between the sexes. Government-sponsored days of tax-payer-funded celebrations for one sex or the other won’t create even once a year for one day what we need to have all year around. What the government makes a duty will soon be perceived to be a chore by many who will not ever get to see it as their obligation.

Australia: International Men’s Day
November 6, 2008 by Walter Schneider.
From John Flanagan:
Hi to Everyone
Warwick Marsh from the Fatherhood Foundation has called for the recognition of International Men’s Day on 19 November 2008. Please see the media release below.
The Non-Custodial Parents Party (Equal Parenting) and the Fatherhood Foundation support both men and women. For example, a very large number of our valued members in the Party are women. However we feel that it is also very important to recognise this particular day for men.
As such, we will be attending a Conference at the NSW Parliament House, Sydney. This will be held on 19 November 2008. It is being organised by Warwick and Alison Marsh. The main speaker will be Dr Elizabeth Celi.
By coincidence, it was on this day in 1941 that the HMAS Sydney was lost during the Second World War.
Regards
John

Media Release
International Men’s Day - 19th November 2008
International Men’s Day will have its inaugural celebration in Australia on 19th November 2008.
Russian President, Mikhail Gorbachev, first called for an international day to celebrate men in 1999 at the United Nations in Vienna . International Men’s Day is celebrated on many different dates around the world with varying degrees of success.
To help standardize International Men’s Day and increase its success the Indian ‘Save the Family Foundation‘ launched an international campaign and called for the celebration of International Men’s Day on 19th November along with Pakistan , Trinidad and Tobago.
Australia is joining with India, which has the second largest male population in the world, to call other countries around the world to make 19^th November 2008 a day to honour men for the contribution they make to their family, friends, work, community and nation.
Warwick Marsh, from the Dads4Kids Fatherhood Foundation said, “We contacted the leaders of the Save the Family Foundation in India , the leading advocates for International Men’s Day, before sharing the vision with several leaders in the Australian men and father’s movement at the National Shared Parenting Conference in Gosford, NSW on 14th June 2008.
The response in Australia for an International Men’s Day has been really positive. Already in Australia we have watched the phenomenal expansion of Movember, which promotes men’s health, so it’s great to see all these things happening for men in the month of November. Movember is exploding in influence around the world.”
Mr Marsh continued, “The 19th November is historically a day of great significance for every Australian. In 1941 it was the day that the HMAS Sydney II was lost. The 19th November 2008 commemorates the loss of 645 men when the HMAS Sydney sank off the coast of Western Australia, the greatest loss of men’s lives on any one day by Australian forces in World War II.“
“The theme for the International Men’s Day 2008 is ‘Honour and Sacrifice’. This commemorates what our Aussie men, sons, fathers and grandfathers, both past and present, have sacrificed for their families, communities and nation,” Mr Marsh said.
“We call on other countries to join in solidarity to celebrate, on International Men’s Day, Wednesday 19th November 2008, the positive contribution that men make to the world.”

Comment by F4L: It is perhaps a sign of a fractured international men’s movement that there is no consensus amongst nations as to on which day of the year the International Men’s Day should be celebrated. Still, it is more likely that the differing dates for celebrating a men’s day and the lack of such a celebration in many nations (e. g.: USA, Germany and many other developed nations) is a consequence of the disdain in which many countries in the world hold men.
In contrast, International Women’s Day is being celebrated in almost all nations in the world. Moreover, the celebration of International Women’s Day are being held on March 8 throughout the world.
Canada celebrates International Men’s Day on November 25.
One gains the impression that men’s sacrifices to society are so commonplace that they are being taken for granted, while it took nothing more than relatively and extremely rare disasters, such as the March 25, 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York that killed 146 garment workers (most of them women), to get an International Women’s Day off the ground.
Comparable plights by men, such as that more than 100,000 men died in mining accidents throughout the world during the last century and that they still die by the thousands each year in such accidents don’t need to be noticed, not to mention the more than a hundred million men who died through military actions throughout the last century in the world — all for nothing less than to save home and country.
No, why worry about men? Men are beasts of burden. Moreover, it is women who must suffer when men die, right? That is men’s fault, and why should it be celebrated that men are permitted to abscond by dying on average so many years sooner than women do?

Domestic violence programs in California must open doors to battered men

Battered Men Being Denied Services Is Ruled Unconstitutional By California Appellate Court, Reports National Coalition of Free Men
Domestic violence programs in California must open doors to battered men
For Immediate Release
SAN DIEGO/EWORLDWIRE/Oct. 17, 2008 — On October 14, 2008, the Court of Appeal in Sacramento, Calif., ruled it is unconstitutional to deny state-funded domestic violence shelter services to men.
The case (Woods. v. Shewry) was filed by four men and the daughter of one, against the State of California and its agencies. The lower court dismissed the case on the ground that men and women are “not similarly situated” as victims. The Court of Appeal reversed the decision on October 14, 2008, holding “male victims of domestic violence are similarly situated to female victims for purposes of the statutory programs” and the laws “violate equal protection.”
“This is a big victory for male victims and for gender equality, but the fight is not over,” said the plaintiffs’ attorney, Marc E. Angelucci of the National Coalition of Free Men (NCFM), the oldest and largest men’s rights organization in the U.S. “Many taxpayer-funded programs, especially in Los Angeles, deny men counseling, legal services, shelter or even hotel vouchers, putting their children in danger. Men pay at least half of the taxes that fund these programs, and they should not be denied services when they need them.
“This decision can profoundly affect the equal treatment of victims,” said NCFM’s President Harry Crouch. “All victims need help, and services should be need-based, not gender-based.”
Professors and experts filed sworn declarations supporting the plaintiffs and explaining that this is a serious but hidden problem and that children are being emotionally harmed when their fathers don’t get the necessary help.
Men are less likely than women to report domestic violence, which makes crime-based statistics unreliable. Randomized sociological surveys worldwide, however, consistently show women initiate domestic violence at least as often as men, and men suffer about a third of physical injuries. California State Long Beach Professor Martin Fiebert summarizes over 200 of these studies in an online bibliography. The 50/50 result remains even when self-defense is accounted for.

Climate alarmists not only full of hot air but deadly wrong
October 19, 2008 by Walter Schneider.
This is all that needs to be said, the open letter from the Viscount Monckton of Brenchley to Senator John McCain must be read, not so much because the climate alarmists are wrong but because policies based on their errors are deadly to the human race.
There is related discussion paper by the Viscount Monckton of Brenchley that is required reading for anyone who ever spread climate alarmism, for anyone ever taken in by it, and for anyone worried about the consequences of the attempts by the governments of the world to fool-around and interfere with the forces of nature and of the free market system: that is, untold misery, starvation and death for many tens of millions of people:

Batman and The Joker reported to the police for assaulting and attacking female hairdresser Johanna Toftby, from the TV-show Single Mom Searching on TV3
According to the newspaper Expressen, Ulf Andersson (Batman) says:
Johanna Toftby will be reported to the police for slandering and making a wrongful report to he police by giving false testimony. There will also be legal repercussions for the Newspaper Expressen.
We (Batman, The Joker and the cameraman Rainer) and our evidence on VHS, DVD, MP3 and CD present a completely different picture of the actual event than the picture that Johanna drew in Expressen”.

120 Fathers Rights Demonstrators in Fulda (Germany)

A translation of the article into English is appended after the following comments.
It is worthwhile checking out the photos relating to the article. They provide a few ideas for the wording and formats of placards that can be used on placards at other demonstrations elsewhere.
The photo in the main article shows expunged fathers writing (with chalk) the names of their children on the pavement in front of the Fulda Court Building. Fulda is a German city with a population of about 60,000.
The slogans visible and legible in the photos related to the main article translate as follows:

“Men’s Commissioner”
That implies that there is none, alluding to the fact that every developed nation has a government department for the “Status of Women” or for women but nothing comparable for men. Sorry, but a sign like that is not of much help in promoting the causes of men, women and families.A discussion of why that is so would take too much space here.Let’s just say that only some of the initiated-few understand what the sign is getting at. The philosophical complexity of the placard violates a few of the fundamental requirements for successful propaganda. Hitler, who without a doubt was an expert when it comes to designing successful and effective propaganda, explained it like this:All propaganda must be popular and its intellectual level must be adjusted to the most limited intelligence among those it is addressed to. Consequently, the greater the mass it is intended to reach, the lower its purely intellectual level will have to be. But if, as in propaganda for sticking out a war, the aim is to influence a whole people, we must avoid excessive intellectual demands on our public, and too much caution cannot be extended in this direction. … (Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Chapter VI)

Translation of the article in the Fuldaer Zeitung (Fulda News):
120 Demonstrators in the Inner City
2008 10 05
FULDA “We are here and quite loud, because they steal our children!” That is how it resounded through the Inner City of Fulda.
With that slogan the organization “Fathers Decampment [as for getting an uprising underway] for Children” demonstrated for the strengthening of the position of fathers who after separations want to take over responsibility for their children.
About 120 demonstrators walked in connection with that through the Inner City.
And because the critique aimed mainly at politics, church and courts, the demonstrators went past the City Palace, the Cathedral and the Fulda District Court.
In front of the main gate of the Court Building, the fathers used chalk to write on the pavement the names of their children with whom they they may not and cannot have any contact.
The demonstration finished with a closing rally on the University Plaza.
The aim of the organization is for the implementation of more equal rights [sic] in child-access and -custody.

Comment by Fathers for Life: Compulsory divorce (ostensibly “no-fault” divorce, almost exclusively imposed on fathers and husbands, almost always against their wishes, in about half of marriages that form) is the primary cause for the escalation of the systematic destruction of the fundamental building block of society, the family. It is thereby virtually the sole reason why fathers are expunged from the lives of their children.
To restore the respect that society once had for fathers and families and therefore to promote respect and love between fathers and mothers and harmony in families would provide for a stable and productive society; as it once did before the family became deliberately deconstructed.
One gains the strong impression that the aim of demonstrations, such as the one in Fulda, held by expunged fathers is not to promote the reconstruction of families and society, thereby to re-establish the esteem in which society once held fathers, but it is to give complaining fathers an opportunity to promote social changes that will eliminate their being discriminated against when they are forced to live with the consequences of separation and divorce.
It appears that such expunged and complaining fathers want to have rights that are equal to those held by women in sharing the loot that can be gained by scavenging amongst the ruins, rubble and ashes produced by the war against families and society.
Equally-shared parenting still gives children on average only half of the parenting that they are entitled to.
Only two parents who live for their children and cooperate with one another to raise their children to the best of their abilities while sharing the same roof with their children will produce the best outcomes for their children.
From the perspective of a child of divorce, two parents living apart and equally sharing custody still add up to only one whole parent. The reality of that is reflected in the results of the measurement of the outcomes in children from families. In general, children that are not raised by two married parents living under a common roof with their children display more than twice the level of undesired outcomes than do children in married families.
Under the sponsorship of the Heritage Foundation, Patrick Fagan produced a good number of reports that provide irrefutable evidence of the extensive destructiveness of divorce and fatherlessness with respect to outcomes in children of single-mother “families”.

The Effect of Feminism on Canadian Society
September 27, 2008 by Walter Schneider.
Barbara Kay, columnist at Canada’s National Post, in her speech at the 25th Anniversary Conference of REAL Women of Canada, The Effect of Feminism on Canadian Society (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; 20 September 2008), in describing what has in effect become a totalitarian society dominated and controlled by feminist ideology and doctrine, stated:
….Nothing is more illustrative of the punitive character of feminist excesses than family court. Here is where misandry in its most open, cynical and pernicious form is found. Over 85% of contested custody suits end with mothers receiving sole custody over children. The remaining 15% divide children between other family members, agencies and fathers, so in fact fathers arrive at sole custody about 7% of the time.
Only an extreme systemic contempt for the value of a father’s role in the life of a child can explain such a disparity, and only an extreme prejudice against men in general can explain that contempt, and nobody pretends otherwise.
Indeed, one of the more chilling statements I have ever read, one that captures the casual acceptance of democracy’s fall from grace in family court was this from the National Association of Women and the Law: “Courts may treat parents unequally and deny them basic civil liberties and rights, as long as their motives are good.”…. More of Barbara Kay’s speeches
Although Barbara Kay did not dwell on it in her speech, the totalitarian system created and controlled by feminists such as in Canada now prevails in all developed nations and extends to virtually all developing nations, in what is becoming a truly feminist, global, socialist, totalitarian State.
