Verdict expected in Catherine Kieu Becker case

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) April 26, 2013 – A Catherine Kieu Becker verdict is expected next week in her Lorena Bobbitt-Like case. Catherine Kieu aka Catherine Kieu Becker [photo at left] cut off her husband’s manhood in 2011, put it down a garbage disposal and pressed “on”. As reported on LALATE that year, Catherine Kieu pled not guilty. But in closing arguments this week, she admitted to the hideous act.

On June 23, 1993, John Wayne Bobbitt was laying asleep when wife Lorena got out of bed, and went to the kitchen for a drink of water. She then grabbed a carving knife in the kitchen, returned to the bed, and cut off half of Bobbitt’s manhood.

In this case, the name of the male victim has been kept quite [sic]. But Kieu’s victim was her husband, a Mr. Becker, officials confirmed in July of 2011.

Catherine Kieu Becker was arrested, charged with torture and aggravated mayhem. Police claimed that she poisoned her husband’s dinner. After being served an entree of tofu for dinner on July 11, Becker’s husband fell asleep. When he woke up, she was allegedly standing over him with a 10 inch kitchen knife. As he starred at her, she allegedly cut off his manhood in “celebration”. Police assert Catherine Kieu Becker’s motivation was anger that she was being divorced by her husband following less than 2 years of marriage….(Full Story)
