VAWA: Out of Control
January 12, 2009 by Walter Schneider.
RADAR ALERT
RADAR Launches New Campaign - VAWA: Out of Control
2009 01 12
Today RADAR launches a new campaign “Violence Against Women Act: OUT OF CONTROL” The campaign will highlight that despite spending billions of dollars over the last decade, VAWA-funded programs lack accountability and effectiveness, and are destroying families. Case in point are the advertisements that were run on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit last Fall that featured messages promoting harmful and false stereotypes.
During the next few months our campaign will highlight how the Violence Against Women Act has gone out of control. We will be asking you to help get out the word to your elected representatives and the media how the Violence Against Women Act is out of control, as well as how to reform VAWA.
Successfully reforming VAWA depends on your participation. Last year we have succeeded in stopping four out-of-control bills: I-VAWA, ABA earmarks, gun confiscation, and a House resolution. Please familiarize yourself with how the Violence Against Women Act is “Out Of Control” at http://www.mediaradar.org/how_is_vawa_out_of_control.php

He smashed his own head against wall, toilet, accused tells court
By Ryan Cormier
EDMONTON - A woman on trial for second-degree murder denied any role in her foster child’s death when she took the stand Monday.
The woman, who cannot be identified, cried as she directly addressed the jury throughout her testimony.
“No, I didn’t,” she replied when asked if she caused or had anything to with the death of the child, who also cannot be identified. The woman denied ever hitting the child, or locking him in a garage to punish misbehaviour. An older foster child who previously testified accused the woman of mistreating the boy….(Full Story)

Family court to men - ‘Just shut up and pay’
January 12, 2009 by Walter Schneider.
National Post [Canada]

Lorne Gunter: Family court to men - ‘Just shut up and pay’
There is perhaps no area of law in which logic is so distorted as family law. Men are seen as only two things: deadbeats or moneybags.
Consider the case of Pasqualino Cornelio.
Mr. Cornelio is a Toronto man who was ordered before Christmas to continue paying child support to his ex-wife, even after it was proven the couple’s twin girls were fathered by another man with whom the former Mrs. Cornelio had had an extramarital affair while the couple was still together….(Full Story)

Dead baby’s family refuses to see mother
By TRACY MCLAUGHLIN, SPECIAL TO SUN MEDIA
BARRIE [Ontario] — Tears of pain and anger flowed in a courtroom yesterday as the family of a baby girl found dead in a car trunk told a judge they never want to see the mother again.
Jody Ann Lee, 37, of Barrie, pleaded guilty to infanticide and failing to provide the necessities of life after police found her newborn baby girl stuffed into plastic bags in the trunk of her car Nov. 8, 2005.
Lee is allowed to spend three days a week with the surviving twin at her home where she lives with her parents as she awaits sentencing, court has heard….(Full Story)
___________________
F4L: The category of crime “infanticide” is less serious than manslaughter, available only to women and, generally without exception, results in a conditional sentence of two-years-less-a-day.
That means that most likely no portion of the sentence will be served in jail. Even if a jail term would be served, the fact that such a sentence is for a term of two-years-less-a-day means that it will be served in a provincial jail, and mandatory release of the sentenced individual will take place after she was incarcerated for only one-third of the sentence (eight months).
However, it is very unlikely that Jody Ann Lee will spent any time being incarcerated. The taking of the life of the child she murdered does not mean that much. After all, she is considered to be the “real” victim, as she had to go through the trauma of having to hide from her parents the fact that she was pregnant.
When women kill there is always an excuse.

Sheboygan girl, 17, charged for allegedly having sex with boy, 14
[and a Sheboygan boy, 17, charged for allegedly having sex with girl, 14]
By Eric Litke • Sheboygan Press staff
January 9, 2009
A 17-year-old Sheboygan girl was charged Thursday with misdemeanor sexual assault for allegedly having sex with her 14-year-old boyfriend.
Norma J. Guthrie, of 1034-A Michigan Ave., was in court a day after a 17-year-old Sheboygan boy was charged with a felony for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girlfriend.
Guthrie admitted having sex with the boy between 10 and 15 times, according to a complaint charging her with fourth-degree sexual assault. She faces a maximum of nine months in jail, if convicted….
On Wednesday, Alan J. Jepsen, 17, of 1416 New York Ave., was charged for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl who he claimed told him she was 16. Jepsen is facing a count of felony second-degree sexual assault, which carries a maximum prison term of 25 years.
Assistant District Attorney Jim Haasch, who filed both complaints,….said the cases are different because Guthrie’s boyfriend is “almost 15,” with a birthday in February. Jepsen’s girlfriend turns 15 in April….(Full Story)
________________
F4L: Yes, certainly, the two cases are different. The 17-year-old girl, Norma J. Guthrie, is an “Aryan”, while the 17-year-old boy, Alan J. Jepsen, is a “Jew.”

Credit-card thief prosecuted as sex-offender
January 12, 2009 by Walter Schneider.
….Mr. Soucia was a thief: more precisely he stole a credit card. And, as a result, he was prosecuted “under the ‘Sex Offender Management and Treatment Act’.” How’s that!!
What gave the low-life prosecutor, aptly named James Conboy, the excuse was that the young man used the stolen credit to hire some strippers. In the logical world of Mr. Conboy: “If you commit a burglary and your goal is because of your own sexual gratification, it’s a sexually motivated felony.”
….Conboy admitted that by pretending that common theft was now a sex crime he could get a longer sentence for the offense. In addition the young thief will have to register as a dangerous sex offender….(Full Story)
