Legal Recognition of chosen “gender”
May 14, 2007 by Walter Schneider.
J. W. [name removed as per request 2011 03 26] wrote:
Hi Walter,
What do you think of the fact that Elizabeth the Second, By the Grace of God of Canada and Her other Territories Queen, Head of Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, has given Royal Assent to the Gender Recognition Act in the UK?
Excerpt from the Gender Recognition Act:
(1) Where a full gender recognition certificate is issued to a person, the person’s gender becomes for all purposes the acquired gender (so that, if the acquired gender is the male gender, the person’s sex becomes that of a man and, if it is the female gender, the person’s sex becomes that of a woman).
Let me know what you think,
J.
Hello J.,
Why do you wish to know what I think? What I think is immaterial in the matter of concern to you. Moreover, the very few people who seek recognition of their chosen sex will hardly make a difference in what is happening to our society.
The systematic deconstruction of the traditional nuclear family is an established fact and will hardly be accelerated through pro-transgender-, pro-gender reassignment-legislation or legislation of any other sort that is or is potentially harmful to established and now ostensibly antiquated social, cultural or moral traditions and norms. Transgender activism merely exploits an opening made for it.
Regardless of how far gender-reassignment goes, no one can change the genes of an individual wanting to be something he is not, male or female. Theater, role-playing and sex-change operations do not in truth change anyone’s sex, Queen’s assent or not. However, we all must live within the law, regardless of how ludicrous many of our laws have become. None of us any longer have the right of the innocent to declare “The emperor wears no clothes.”
We don’t have to worry about the consequences of the new transgender legislation. Provided we are permitted to fade away in peace, in at the most four generations not enough Caucasians will be left to matter or to form a nation of their own, let alone maintain the western Christian cultural heritage. It is doubtful that anyone will be left then who will be willing or able to issue a full gender recognition certificate to anyone; and no one will care to have one of those.
Who falls asleep in a democracy will wake up in a dictatorship. – Otto Gritschneder
History repeats itself. Democracy always decays into totalitarianism and ultimately into chaos. I’ll leave you with two more relevant quotes:
It is a characteristic of any decaying civilization that the great masses of the people are unaware of the tragedy. Humanity in a crisis is generally insensitive to the gravity of the times in which it lives. Men do not want to believe their own times are wicked, partly because they have no standard outside of themselves by which to measure their times. If there is no fixed concept of justice, how shall men know it is violated? Only those who live by faith really know what is happening in the world; the great masses without faith are unconscious of the destructive processes going on, because they have lost the vision of the heights from which they have fallen.
Attributed to Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
A society that puts equality—in the sense of equality of outcome—ahead of freedom will end up with neither equality nor freedom. The use of force to achieve equality will destroy freedom, and the force, introduced for good purposes, will end up in the hands of people who use it to promote their own interests.
